Fearful of protests on student uprising anniversary, mullahs close dorms!!

The clerical regime ruling Iran has ordered the temporary closing of dormitories at the University of Tehran, which almost exactly a decade ago was the scene of an uprising by students and a bloody crackdown by the regime.

University of Tehran’s Deputy of Student Affairs, Mehdi Ghamsari, announced the news and said: In accordance to the university’s decision to begin exams on September 5, 2009, students will be able to take residence at the campus two days before that date.” He added only “eligible students” can stay at the campus until the exams.

The measure signals the Iranian regime’s clear trepidation about the persistence of the recent nationwide uprising on the 10th anniversary of the July 9, 1999 student upheaval.
