Suppressive forces on alert to create atmosphere of repression on the eve of July 9 uprising

According to information received, on the eve of the 10th anniversary of the July 9 uprising by Iranian people and students, suppressive military forces, State Security Forces and members of the paramilitary Bassij are on full alert.

The mullahs’ regime is stepping up control and repression across the country by increasing the number of stop and search outposts in Tehran and searching over 80 percent of vehicles in order to spread fear.

There has been an increase in the number of plainclothes agents and special patrols in the streets of Tehran-Pars, Vanak, Park way, Jordan, Shahrak-e Gharb and in central parts of Tehran including the Bazaar.

Simultaneously, the regime which is afraid of popular protests is using sandstorms as an excuse to encourage residents of Tehran to go to places with a better climate.
