A number of detainees have been transferred to the notorious Evin Prison
On July 9, which marked the 10th anniversary of an uprising in 1999 and day 27 of the Iranian people’s current nationwide uprising, more than 100 young people and students were arrested in Tehran. A number of the detainees have been transferred to the notorious Evin Prison.
Hundreds of relatives of those detained in recent weeks on Saturday continued with their protest outside Evin and the Revolutionary Court in Moalem Street which has continued for the past four weeks.
The relatives held photographs and information of their loved ones and demanded their unconditional release. Fearful of an escalation of the protest by the families, the mullahs’ regime has deployed a large number of suppressive forces outside Evin Prison.
While warning of torture and execution of the detainees, the Iranian Resistance urges all international organizations and human rights bodies to condemn the crimes of the regime and take urgent action to bring a halt to arbitrary arrests in Iran and prevent torture and execution and win the immediate release of the detainees.
