Shabnam Madad-Zadeh, a senior member of Tahkim Vahdat organization, suffers from chest pain after being held for 268 days in Evin.
HRA- The prisoners’ rights unit of HRA reports that Shabnam Madad-Zadeh has gone several times to Evin’s clinic asking for medical help but was denied treatment each time. Prison officials refuse to take necessary steps to provide medical care to Madad-Zadeh who is reportedly in critical condition.
Madad-Zadeh is the chief political officer of Tarbiat Moallem University’s student council and the deputy secretary of the Tahkim Vahdat organization in Tehran. She was arrested by agents from the Intelligence Ministry in February 2009 while she was on her way to University. She was detained for 7 months in ward 209 of Evin 3 of which in solitary confinement. She has been transferred to a public ward inside prison in September 2009.
Madad-Zadeh’s trial has been postponed 4 times because of repeated interference by the judiciary officials.
