Mohammad-Reza Ali-Zamani’s Death Sentence Upheld
The appeals court upheld the death sentence ruling for Mohammad-Reza Ali-Zamani, who is one of the accused in the post-election trials. Evidence published since the initial ruling proves that Ali-Zamani was in prison at the time of the June presidential election and could not have played any role in the post-election events. Ali-Zamani, under pressure and because of promises made to him, made a rehearsed and false confession during the show.

Court Ruling for Mohammad-Ali Abtahi and Mohammad Atrianfar
Abtahi’s daughter denied rumors published by some sites regarding her father’s release. She added that, this morning, five agents accompanied Abtahi to his house, searched the house, and then took Abtahi to court. Abtahi was found guilty on all five counts of the indictment and sentenced to six years in prison.
Mohammad Atrianfar’s defense attorney, Hossein Alirad Tabatabai, announced that the 15th branch of the Revolutionary Court ruled on his client’s case, but he did not give any details regarding the sentence. Tabatabai added, “according to the law, we have twenty days to object to the ruling and file an appeal. We fully intend to undertake this course.”
Medical Help Still Being Denied to Shabnam Madadzadeh
Shabnam Madadzadeh is a student who has been in prison since March 2009. Since her initial arrest and detention, Shabnam has reportedly suffered from chronic heart complications. Prison authorities have refused to provide her with any medical attention. HRA published a report last week regarding her condition, but no medical help has been given to her. Because of this neglect, her condition worsens by the day.
