Farzad Eslami Released

Farzad Eslami, a law student at Azad University Central Tehran Branch who was arrested on November 4 was released on recognizance from Evin prison on Wednesday afternoon .


Farzad Eslami was the managing editor of the now banned journal Binesh and former secretary of Muslim Students Association in Azad University Central Tehran campus. Following student protests held during the first six weeks of the academic year at this campus, he was sentenced to three-semesters suspension by the university disciplinary committee.

Farzad Eslami was arrested early morning on November 4 after security forces’ raided to his house, and was transferred to Evin prison. During the past few days several Azad University students have been detained or academically suspended after holding protests against Ahmadinejad’s government. Salman Sima is one of student activists in Azad University who was arrested a few days ago and transferred to an unknown location.
