Brutal Attack of Ansar-e Hezbollah Forces on the University of Mashad

Today, members of the Ansar group and Basij entered Azad University of Mashad holding knives, while chanting slogans in support of Khamenei.

According to the newsletter of Amir Kabir, after the students of Mashad University carried out a mourning ceremony for Ashoura’s martyrs on the third day after their death, several buses carrying more than 500 members of Ansar and Basij entered the university campus around 1:00 pm. These people were armed with knives and attacked the students, which caused more than eight students to be taken to the hospital.

According to the reports, one of the professors at the university was also injured by knife wounds from the government-supporting forces, and one of the female students was injured in her head due to a blow by a piece of wood.

These non-students were not stopped upon entering the university and brutally beat the students, who had gathered in front of the architecure department building.

The students of Azad University of Mashhad had a silent gathering today for the third day of passing of the Ashoura martyrs. They condemned people’s oppression.

Even though the students had a silent gathering and were not chanting any slogans, they were still attacked by knives, wood, and pepper spray by Ansar and Basij forces.

According to eye-witnesses, while these events were happening at the university, the police forces blocked the streets leading to the university and dispersed people using tear gas.

According to Amir Kabir newsletter, Ansar forces transferred the students outside the university and the security forces arrested them.

There is no precise account of the number of those arrested, but according to reports more than 70 students and citizens were arrested and taken to Ghasem Abad police station.

Following the brutal attack of Ansar forces, the classes in the university were cancelled.
