Death Sentences for Two Detainees of Recent Events
HRANA – Rights of Citizens, Speech and Thought: Iran’s Revolutionary Court sentenced two detainees of recent events to the death penalty.
According to a report issued by the Freedom of Speech and Thought unit of Human Rights Activists in Iran, on December 28, 2009 at the 28th Branch of the Revolutionary Court, Judge Mogheisy sentenced Ahmad Karimi, one of the detainees arrested before Iran’s June election to death. In one of the “show trials,” Ahmad Karimi confessed to “fighting against God” and being a member of Anjoman Padeshahi (Royalist association).
