Radio France: There are conflicting reports surrounding the number of deaths in anti-government protests in Iran.
According to Iranian state media, 15 people were killed in Sunday’s clashes. State media reported that five people were killed by terrorists, and 10 were killed by anti-revolutionary groups.
Iranian state television quoted, based on the information provided by the Information Ministry’s website, during the “suspicious incidents” on Sunday, five people were killed by terrorists and over ten people were killed by counter-revolutionary forces.
In a statement released by police on Sunday night, it confirmed and stressed that the five dead were killed in “suspicious circumstances.”
In a delayed broadcast by state television, it was announced that several people were killed and injured in clashes between pro and anti-government clashes. Press TV, the English language channel of the Islamic Republic broadcasting network, reported that based on the information provided by the Supreme National Security Council, eight people were killed in the clashes. The report stated that four were killed in Tehran and four were killed in Tabriz.
