Amir Kabir University Student Activist Arrested

Agents from the Intelligence Ministry arrested Mohammad-Yousef Rashidi in his parent’s home in Noshahr on Friday, November 28th. The family has told Rashidi’s friends that he is currently being held at the Intelligence Ministry’s detention center in the Mazandaran province and has started a hunger strike.

HRA- The Student’s Unit of HRA reports that Mohammad-Yousef Rashidi is a leftist student activist at Amir-Kabir Technical University in Tehran. He was known for his active role in the protests, which resulted in his suspension. The protests took place during Ahmadinejad’s visit and speech at the university.

During the protest, Rashidi held a big sign on which was written “Fascist president, Polytechnic is not a place for you”. He held the sign directly before Ahmadinejad.
