Fo’ad Shams Remains in Solitary Confinement

The family of the detained blogger and student activist, Fo’ad Shams has announced that he is being held in solitary in ward 209 of Evin Prison.

HRA-The Prisoners’ Rights Unit of HRA reports that in a phone call today, the detained student activist, Fo’ad Shams has informed his family that he is being held in solitary confinement in ward 209 of Evin. Shams has reportedly said that he is in good physical and mental conditions.
Shams who suffers from respiratory problems caused by a past dental treatment, has complained about having difficulty to eat food.
Fo’ad’s father has announced that his son does not belong to any political or student organization, rejecting claims made by some political websites.
Fo’ad Shams is a Tehran University student. He was arrested and taken to Evin Prison on December 3rd, 2009, on his way to University’s disciplinary committee.
