Brutal Assault of Prison Guards on Political Prisoners in Gohardasht, Karaj

Yesterday morning the prison guards of Gohardasht prison in Karaj assaulted political and defenseless prisoners in Section 4 and came down on them with insults and other forms of harassment.

The majority of political prisoners are being kept at Gohardasht prison. The guards bullied and insulted prisoners, sending them into the open-air to face the fierce cold for a long time. Later, they attacked the cells of political prisoners with dogs, and proceeded to destruct the personal supplies the prisoners’ families had provided for them. They confiscated their writings, and phone cards that they use to call their families. They even took food supplies that political prisoners had bought from the prison shop. Close to 40 guards, under the command of Moradi and Samiyi, took part in this brutal assault.

Ali Haj Kazem, Head of Gohardasht Prison in Karaj, had ordered the assault and it happened under the supervision of Kermani and Faraji, head of the protection and intelligence department of the prison and his deputy.

Most of the political prisoners are kept at section 4 of Gohardasht prison in Karaj including Mansour Osaloo, head of the directors board of the syndicate of Tehran Vahed Bus workers; Ali Saremi, Saeed Masoori, Afshin Baymani, Arjang Davoodi, Ali Moyezi, Hood Yazerloo, Misagh Yazdan Nejad, Mohammad Ali Mansouri, Shir-Mohammad Rezayi, Mansoor Rad-Poor and a large number of other political prisoners.
