Bullets Fired During Protests in Iran

BBC News- Witnesses report that clashes broke out between security forces and opposition supporters in Iran. According to eyewitness police has used batons and tear gas during clashes. Unconfirmed news also report that bullet shots have been fired. After the elections, the slogans were merely about taking back electors’ votes. Now the slogans are all against the leadership and the entire system.

A witness reported that police shot tear gas against people who where chaning, “Death to Dictato”r and “Do not be scared, we are all together.”

According to Amir Kabir website run by reformist students, security forces attempted to prevent students from joining the protest groups. Due to limits set on the media, activists use CD, flyers and verbal comunications.

following post election protests, many were sentenced to detention and 5 were condemned to death.

During the weekend, in a simple protest held by a group of women including mourning mothers who lost their children during the crack down on protests, over 20 persons were arrested. Some of these women were later released.
