New Inhumane Limitations in Prison
Based on reports received from Evin Prison, Mr. Broujerdi, a cleric who opposses the Supreme Leader will have his right to make phone calls revoked beginning Thursday January 7, 2010. Nobody has claimed responsibility for this decision.
Due to the recent rise in arrests, some prisoners are being kept in storage containers. Other inhumane limitations created for prisoners include a significant decrease in the amount of food given to prisoners. Currently the amount of food given to the four prisoners in the special clergy section of the prison includes two pieces of bread, one tea bag, and a portion of food so small that it hardly feeds one person.
The government has placed Mr. Broujerdi under tight control to prevent his messages on the recent situation in Iran from leaving the prison.
