More than 30 Sirjan residents were injured or killed during second attempt to carry out executions

After the unsuccessful attempt of the law enforcement forces to carry out the execution of two detainees on Tuesday morning, the execution was scheduled for today (Tuesday evening). The scene was attended by more than 5000 people who voiced their objection to the executions. This caused a clash between the people and the law enforcement forces. After the law enforcement and security forces were given orders to shoot, three ordinary residents of Sirjan were killed in the scene of the execution.

According to a reliable source, seven more were critically injured. Also, more than 20 more were sent to hospitals in Kerman to receive medical treatment.

During the clashes, a number of law enforcement cars were also put on fire. The two detainees were sentenced to execution for armed robbery and possession of firearms. They were sent back to prison.
