Disciplinary Orders Issued for University of Chamran Students in Ahvaz

The disciplinary orders were most likely issued to prevent the boycott of exams.

During the last week, the disciplinary committee of the University of Chamran in Ahvaz hastily ordered student acitivists to be deprived from their education.

According to Amir Kabir News, the exact number of students sent to the disciplinary committee is not yet known, but more than 20 Ahvaz students have been summoned before the disciplinary board. These students were each individually sent to the disciplinary committee and threatened with arrest by the Ministry of Intelligence.

These actions have been intended to create dread amongst students in order to prevent the boycotting of exams.

Ahmad Ebrahimi, an activist of the Islamic Engineering Society has been summoned by the Revolutionary Court of Ahvaz City as well as Tehran’s Revolutionary Court.

Mohammad Piroozmand, another member of the Islamic Engineering Society has been banned from entering the university a few days before the start of exams.

Several months ago, Sajad Pirfalak and Mehrdad Tafi, student activists from the Science School in the University of Chamran University in Ahvaz, were suspended for one semester.
